Dark's Kitchen
Serves 6


2 C flour
1 1/2 C milk, warmed
1/3 C butter, melted
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla

Churro topping;

1/2 C sugar
1/4 C butter, melted
1-2 Tbsp cinnamon

Dipping sauce;

2 oz. semi sweet chocolate, finely chopped (or dark chocolate)
1/4 C heavy cream
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cayenne


Preheat waffle iron. Lightly grease with non-stick spray.

Waffle batter;

In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

In a separate bowl combine warm milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla.

Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir until batter is smooth.

Spoon or pour batter into each section of iron. Close and cook until golden. Repeat with remaining batter.

Churro topping:

Mix sugar and cinnamon in shallow bowl or plate.

Dipping sauce:

Combine chocolate, cream, sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.

Drizzle or brush waffles with melted butter. Dip in cinnamon sugar mix.

Serve with dipping sauce.
